The Cruel Prince series by Holly Black is a one-of-a-kind series with magnificent world-building and an enemies-to-lovers romance that is really good. Even though the beginning isn't really interesting, as the book progresses it gets better. The book is a slow burn fantasy with a lot of interesting characters. The Characters in this book are not your typical characters. Some of them give you second hand embarrassment, some you will love, and others you will hate. Overall the book is good and if you decide you want to continue reading more then I recommend reading the rest of the series.
What I liked about the book was the world building. The author explained the world well, so the readers could imagine what was going on in the book as they read. In my opinion the best part of the book was the end. The book had a few plot twists but especially at the end so I guess that's why I think it was the best part. My favorite character has to be the protagonist because even though she has and had to go through a lot she stays strong.
I would recommend the book to people who are into fantasy with a bit of romance. Also readers who don't mind a slow burn and those who like enemies to lovers.
