Our Dix Hills branch has an engraver available for patron-use. Our Glowforge Plus is able to engrave and cut the below FLAT materials:
- Wood
- Leather/Faux Leather
- Glass/Plexiglass
- Rubber
- Cork
Design Possibilities
Any design within the constraints of our Makerspace Policy can be designed or used to engrave. Patrons must bring in their own materials to be engraved, they are not supplied or available for purchase at the library. Pieces of wood can be purchased at a craft store or online. It is recommend that patrons have extra materials to test the engraving of their design before engraving the final product.
Designs must be in .pdf or .svg format.
Interested in Engraving?
The Half Hollow Hills Community Library has an engraving service for patrons to create while captivating their interests and exploring curiosities. The cost for engraving is 20-cents per-minute. The cost covers use of the engraver and the power the machine draws during use. Note, any original or existing creation that requires modification by a Digital Services staff member is subject to a design fee of $5.00.
