Construction Update: September 19, 2019

Ready to set footings for foundation walls.

Trucks of dirt arrive multiple times throughout the day delivering good soil for the project.

Installation of underground drainage systems is underway.​

Construction Update: August 30, 2019

In the next month, the Board of Trustees will work with the architect to finalize the exterior brick and stone colors for the new building.

The construction trailers have arrived. Site preparations continue.

Ground Work Update: August 22, 2019

There will be a handful of trees removed around the site. Once construction is complete, the project includes the planting of more than 20 mature trees.

Ground Work Update: July 22, 2019

More than 50 years ago, the forward-thinking trustees of your library approved the installation of a GeoCool system to greatly reduce the expense of air-conditioning. That system still functions today and will be utilized to full capacity in your new library. Over the last several months we have been busy maintaining, expanding and repairing it. The wheels of progress continue to turn and soon the underground work will be completed and the above ground work can begin.  Thank you.

Move in Progress: November 7, 2018

Our movers are working hard to get us ready to open at Chestnut Hill Elementary School. Keep checking back for updates. In the meantime, our Melville branch is open with extended hours.

Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 9 pm
Saturday, 9:30 am – 5 pm
Sunday, 12 pm – 5 pm

To ensure the community continues to receive 4-star service, we have extended the hours at our Melville branch. Melville will now be open:

Monday – Friday, 9:30 am – 9 pm
Saturday, 9:30 am – 5 pm
Sunday, 12 pm – 5 pm.
