Community volunteers assist our Outreach Librarian by delivering books, magazines, DVD's and CD audiobooks to patrons who are unable to come into the library due to short- or long-term illness or disability.

At our Dix Hills branch, visually and learning disabled patrons may use our:
Through Half Hollow Hills Community Library's interlibrary loan program, patrons with visual disabilities may borrow videos that feature full narrative descriptions.
In addition, both library buildings provide access and accommodation for individuals who are physically challenged. Any of our staff members will be happy to assist you. Adults 21 and over can study for a G.E.D. (General Equivalency Diploma) at home through the GRASP program. All materials and instructions are provided to students free of charge.
