Online Community Service
Online community service opportunities are for district residents of the Half Hollow Hills Library currently in grades 6 through 12. Unless otherwise stated, submissions should be emailed to the Teen Service Department at teenservices@hhhlibrary.org.
Please Note: Submissions may be used on our social media channels.
Please allow up to ONE week for a response via email containing your community service certificate. If more than one week has passed, make sure to check your Spam folder for emails from the Teen Service Department.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Every year, educators are celebrated during Teacher Appreciation Week. Between May 1-31, earn 1 hour of community service by creating a Google slide telling us about your favorite teacher and letting us know how they have been a positive influence in your life. After we receive your submissions, we’ll pass your nice words along to the spotlighted teachers!
All entries must be emailed to teenservices@hhhlibrary.org on/or before Friday, May 31st to receive your certificate.
A maximum of 2 slides, for 2 hours of community service, may be submitted for the month of May.
Virtual Author Talk
The Half Hollow Hills Community Library is now hosting virtual author talks! Receive community service hours for every event you virtually attend when you send us confirmation of your attendance. A list of upcoming author talks can be found at: https://libraryc.org/hhhlibrary/upcoming.
Following an author event, all registrants will receive a "Thank You Email" from the event's host. Please forward this email to teenservices@hhhlibrary.org as evidence of your attendance and to receive community service credit. The amount of community service hours will be dependent on the length of the author talk.
Teen Book Reviews
Want to share a great read? Hated the last book in that popular series?
Let us know! Fill out the Book Review Form on our website to receive one hour of community service for every book reviewed; you might even have your review featured on the teen website!
A maximum of 2 reviews, for 2 hours of community service, may be submitted every month.
